Well, this sounds rather weird, since the two paths are pretty loosely connected. The only scenario in which Socucius promises the 500 gold reward is when he is "impressed with honesty". Socucius seemed pleased to see Processus' murder avenged, and he paid me as promised. Also the last finished state of the quest didn't make any sense: Previously, choices didn't have any consequences because you could simply pick up on the quest again by talking to Gilnith again. The main problem with the quest was that whatever path the player chose and any kind of quest progression were completely reset the moment you started talking to Gilnith. It does not seem a good business to become more involved in.Īfter killing Gilnith, I reported my findings to the Census and Excise Office. Perhaps Processus was a corrupt man, perhaps not. I believe Gilnith's story, and have decided to keep this knowledge to myself. He thanked me for letting him know what had happened. Socucius was disappointed that the money had been lost, and saddened by the death of his tax collector. I decided to keep the truth about the 200 gold I found on Processus to myself.
This quest has different paths to follow (telling Socucius the truth or keep the money? believing Gilnith or bring him to justice?) leading to three different quest finishes: Yes, this is a side effect of fixing the many problems with this quest.
